'I want to inspire people around me' - Willenhall man breaks world record for most half-marathons in a year
A Willenhall man has broken a world record for the most half-marathons run in one year after clocking a total of 465.
Edward Molineaux completed the 13-mile runs between April 6 last year and April 7 this year, racking up more than 6,000 miles.
Determined to reach his goal, the 34-year-old running fanatic even completed six half-marathons in one day.
He broke the world record according to Official Record Breakers and was awarded the certificate by fellow record-breaker and former discus athlete, Kevin Brown, in Walsall on June 1.
Edward said he aims to see what he is capable of through his running challenges.

He explained: "I want to inspire other people around me to change. When I go higher, other people around me will go higher too."
It is not the first time that Edward has made history with his running, having previously broken a record, according to Official Record Breakers, for most half-marathons run in a year between 2022 and 2023.
He was also recently crowned winner of a 2,000-mile virtual race across Africa hosted by GB Ultras.
The personal trainer began running at age 16 but started "taking it seriously" during the Covid-19 lockdown, when a hernia meant he was unable to carry on with other sports he enjoyed including boxing.
Edward explained: “It took me about two years after my [hernia] operation to get my body back.

"All I could do was run - I couldn't turn to anything explosive anymore. That's when I picked up running.”
Edward has already turned his attention to his next challenge on July 26 when he hopes to run 100 miles during a 24-hour ultra-marathon event.
