Staffordshire Police officers were called to the Co-op store on Thornhill Road, Streetly, near Sutton Coldfield, just after 4am on Sunday, June 1, after three men with metal bars forced their way into the premises.

A member of the security team was pushed to the floor before the men tried, and failed, to gain access to the business safe.

They then left the scene empty-handed in a dark-coloured car. The security guard was not injured in the incident.
