Jordan Tonkinson, 29 and of Gower Street, Willenhall, has been jailed for four years after admitting to assault and robbery after his home was targeted as part of a childish game on December 15 last year.

The incident happened after a group of six children were playing 'knock-door-run' - which involves banging on property doors, then running off - in Tonkinson's street.

One of the group kicked Tonkinson's door, which angered him, leading to him chasing after them.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Tonkinson managed to catch up with two of the group and dragged them back towards his address.

"The 29-year-old lined them up outside his home and told them to apologise. Tonkinson then punched them both in the face multiple times, causing one to sustain a cut above their eye and the other cracked teeth."

He then went on to threaten to kill one of the youths unless they handed over their mobile phone, and when it was in his possession, he threw it to the ground and smashed it.

The boys managed to escape, police officers were alerted and promptly arrested Tonkinson on suspicion of assault and robbery.

The spokesperson added: "He initially denied being involved but we built up a strong case of evidence to prove he was responsible.

"He went on to admit the offences and was sentenced to four years at Wolverhampton Crown Court last Monday."
