Fire crews work to extinguish car fire near West Bromwich hospital

Four fire crews were called into action to get a car fire in a West Bromwich Hospital car park under control.

The crews from West Bromwich, Smethwick, Tipton and Oldbury were called to reports of a car on fire on the car park at Hallam Street Hospital at 9.22pm last night, arriving three minutes later to find a car on fire.

They worked to quickly extinguish the fire and the final crew left the scene at 10.15pm, with the car left with hospital security and no injuries reported at the scene.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We were alerted to reports of a car on fire on a hospital car park on Hallam Street in West Bromwich at 9.22pm last night.

"Crews from West Bromwich, Smethwick, Tipton and Oldbury were dispatched, with the first crew arriving at 9.25pm.

"They worked to extinguish the fire and left the car with hospital security, with the last crew leaving at 10.15pm and no injuries reported at the scene."
