Two suspects charged after alleged thefts at Wolverhampton shopping centre

Two suspected shop thieves have been charged after they were arrested at stores in Wolverhampton's Bentley Bridge shopping centre.

Officers were carrying out regular patrols at the complex and yesterday (June 3) made two separate arrests following reports of thefts.

At just after 11am, a man in his 20s was arrested after security staff detained him when he had allegedly taken two packs of earphones worth £30.

Later, at around 2.30pm, officers arrested a second man also in his 20s, after it was reported laundry items worth £45 had been stolen.

Both men have been charged, one with theft and attempted theft and the second with theft.

They have been remanded in police custody overnight and were due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (Wed).
