A red carpet welcome awaits Wolverhampton and Stafford rail passengers as a luxury train pulls in - find out when
A red carpet will soon be laid over the platform at Wolverhampton and Stafford stations as a luxurious train pays a visit.
The 1930s Northern Belle will pull into the stations on Saturday (June 7) morning, departing from Wolverhampton at around 8.05am and Stafford at around 8.25am.
The train will take passengers on a steam-hauled trip through the Yorkshire Dales and over the Settle-Carlisle line.
For part of the journey, it will be hauled by historic former British Rail locomotive Tangmere, which once pulled trains from London to the South Coast.

Passengers will enjoy a three-course champagne brunch during their journey north before spending the afternoon exploring Carlisle.
They will then be served a six-course dinner and wine in the evening.
And entertainment is also on the menu, with musicians and other performers on board helping to make the journey extra special.

A spokesman for the Northern Belle said: “We like to think we are taking people back to the golden days of rail travel – a time when nothing was too good for the pampered passengers.”
It is not the first time the train has paid a visit to the region, having pulled into Walsall Station in April.

The train will be back in Stafford on June 27 for a trip to Bath while another steam journey from both Wolverhampton and Stafford will take place on July 26.
Fares start at £365. For more information and to book tickets, people should visit northernbelle.co.uk
