70 firefighters tackled 'severe' blaze in derelict Smethwick building - with nearby property evacuated
Around 70 firefighters and 15 fire engines helped to tackle a severe fire at a three-storey building in Smethwick.
West Midlands Fire Service have released the full details of a fire that took place on Anderson Road, Bearwood, Smethwick, shortly before 1.15am on Sunday.
Initially, eight fire engines and a hydraulic aerial platform attended the scene; however, at the height of the incident, 15 fire engines and two platforms were in attendance.
The incident was described as a 'severe' blaze in a three-storey derelict building at the address, with no casualties or injuries being reported.

The fire service said that a nearby property was evacuated 'as a precaution', with a full road closure of the route being supported by West Midlands Police.
