Wolverhampton resident spotted arsonists outside house 20 minutes after fatal fire was set, court hears
An eyewitness to the fire that killed Akashdeep Singh and injured three members of his family has told a court how he saw a person running away from the scene.
Dale Francis, 37, and Daniel Tatters, 26, are on trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court charged with the murder of Akashdeep Singh, three attempted murders of three seriously injured family members and arson.
An East Park resident told the court they saw a person run away from Plascom Road just as the family home went up in flames - then 20 minutes later saw a car matching the description of Tatters and Francis' vehicle attempting to drive past the burning home.

In a statement read to the court the resident, who lives around the corner, said they saw the East Park home set on fire and spotted something out of the ordinary in the early hours of July 25 last year.
They told the court: "When the figure ran across the road they were about eight car lengths away from me.
"The way they moved, I could tell they were up to no good.
"They were young because I could tell they were very agile.
