Two people arrested after police officers assaulted outside Sedgley pub
Two people were arrested after police officers were assaulted outside a Sedgley town centre pub.
West Midlands Police said that the officers had been called to reports of disorder outside the Red Lion pub on Bull Ring at around 11.15pm on Sunday.
The officers were allegedly assaulted by a man as they attempted to detain him. A 54-year-old man was subsequently arrested.
A 49-year-old woman was also arrested after she reportedly tried to interfere with his arrest.
Both suspects remain in custody for questioning.

It is the second time in two weeks that a police officer has been assaulted in Sedgley, with an officer suffering facial injuries after being assaulted outside a pub on April 23.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We have arrested a man and a woman after two of our officers were assaulted outside a pub in Sedgley.
"We were called to reports of disorder outside a pub in Bull Ring, Sedgley, at around 11.15pm yesterday (Sunday), and on arrival, officers tried to establish what exactly was happening.
"A man assaulted two officers as they attempted to detain him, and he was subsequently arrested on for assaulting an emergency worker.
"While officers were trying to detain the man, a woman was interfering and stopping officers from arresting him, and she was arrested for obstructing a police officer.

"Both officers are well and have no injuries. The man, aged 54, and the woman, aged 49, both remain in custody for questioning.
