'This is what community is about' - Walsall families commemorate VE Day with lively street party
Families of a Walsall community have celebrated VE Day with a host of fun games, plenty of music and no end of food.
Oakland Road, Bloxwich, was adorned with bunting, tables and chairs, bouncy castles and plenty of food and drinks as they celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Victory in Europe.
The celebration comes thousands of streets across the UK come together to celebrate the end of the Second World War in Europe, with families baking cakes, hosting games and enjoying music together as a community.
In Walsall, one of the many communities to host an event was Oakland Road, where residents had a 'potluck', where everyone bought an item of food, childhood games like the egg-and-spoon race and plenty of music.
