Landywood Primary School, on Holly Lane, Great Wyrley, is a school where students put respect and self-development above all else.

The school's pupils are taught to hold themselves to a high account via their R.E.S.P.E.C.T system, a set of seven traits that help develop a pupil's future of learning through showing respect and working as a team.

Resilience, Empathy, Self-Awareness, Positivity, Excellence, Communication and Teamwork, are the seven areas that make up the school's motto of 'Show Respect'.

Headteacher, Mr Andrew Clewer told the Express & Star: "At Landywood, we place a large focus on personal development. To underpin this, we have just one school rule - 'Show respect'.

"This encompasses seven areas on an acronym of the word respect - resilience, empathy, self-awareness, positivity, excellence, communication and teamwork."

The headteacher went on to say that students strive to meet the four criteria in each area, and when they do, they earn a special badge for that area.
