Man arrested in Halesowen following reports of 'gun' at petrol station
A man has been arrested and a firearm seized after police were called to a Halesowen fuel station in the early hours.
Officers from West Midlands Police were called to the garage on Stourbridge Road at around 4.15am on Friday after reports of someone with a gun being seen nearby.
Firearms officers responded quickly to the report and recovered a 3D printed live and viable firearm nearby, while also arresting a 28-year-old man.
The force said the man is currently in custody being questioned on suspicion of possession of a firearm, theft from a shop, and assault, while an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man’s been arrested and our Major Crime Team are investigating after we were called to a fuel station in Halesowen to reports of someone with a gun.
"We were called to the garage on Stourbridge Road at around 4.15am this morning (May 2).
"It was reported to us that a gun had been seen at the location, and our firearms officers were quickly on the scene.
"A 3D printed live and viable firearm was recovered nearby, and a man aged 28 was arrested.
"He is currently in custody being questioned on suspicion of possession of a firearm, theft from a shop, and assault.
