Burglary suspect arrested within a minute of being reported to Birmingham police

A man has been charged following a burglary of a business in Soho Road in Birmingham

Officers from the West Midlands Police 'Proactive Crime Team' in Birmingham, working on Op Skybridge, arrested a 35-year-old man within a minute of being alerted to a burglary taking place.

Benjamin Farcas has been charged with burglary, going equipped for theft, and possession of a bladed article.

The 35-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (April 2).

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been charged following a burglary of a business in Soho Road, Handsworth.

"Officers from our Proactive Crime Team in Birmingham, Op Skybridge, arrested a 35-year-old man within a minute of being alerted to a burglary taking place.

"Benjamin Farcas has been charged with burglary, going equipped for theft, and possession of a bladed article.  

"The 35-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today.

"Op Skybridge officers continue to carry out proactive enforcement across Birmingham, where they target offenders and disrupt crime."
