Plans lodged for more than 40 new homes in countryside near Wolverhampton
A housing developer has lodged plans for the construction of a new estate near Wolverhampton to meet the area's needs.

Bellway Homes wants to put up 41 properties which is nine more than initially proposed - at a 4.3-acre site off Orton Lane in Wombourne and install a new road. It has now submitted a full planning application to South Staffordshire Council.
The design and access report states: "The local area has an ageing population which is higher than the national average, therefore the inclusion of bungalows ensures that the proposals for the site meet a specialist housing need.
"As they get older a majority of people prefer to live in single-storey properties within neighbourhoods that have good amenities and public transport links like Wombourne."
The deadline for objections and comments is March 19. They can be submitted via email to planning@sstaffs.gov.uk.
