Wolverhampton attempted shooting murder suspect arrested in Manchester

A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident near a city music venue which left three women needing hospital treatment.

West Midlands Police confirmed that it had arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of a Wolverhampton attempted murder in Manchester on Friday.

The incident in September took place on Frederick Street where KK's Steel Mill rock venue is located in September and saw a gun fired from a car, leaving three women injured and taken to hospital.

A 21-year-old man had previously been charged with attempted murder and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life for the same incident.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Wolverhampton.

"We arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday (Friday) in Manchester, following a shooting in Frederick Street, Wolverhampton, in September last year, where a gun was fired from a car.

"Following the incident, three women were taken to hospital with injuries but were later discharged.

"We previously charged a 21-year-old man with attempted murder and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life."
