Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the M54 on Friday morning.

No injuries were reported at the scene, but the force said a silver Toyota had captured officers attention, so it was pursued and stopped at junction 3 near Cosford.

Checks found that the driver was only provisionally licenced and was also driving unsupervised, so the car was seized and the driver reported.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team said: "Officers turned out from a briefing this morning to an RTC on the M54 where, thankfully, no one was injured.

"However, this vehicle then captured our attention.

"It was stopped at junction 3 and the driver found to hold a provisional licence only and unsupervised, so was seized by officers at the scene."
