We asked for your Valentine's date ideas - and many of you had the same romantic idea

Celebrated by millions around the world, the day is either one to look forward to or one to fear, depending on whether you have made plans or not.

So, for those who haven't yet organised an outing for their significant other, we have asked our readers for their suggestions on the most romantic date ideas in the Black Country.

Over 150 people interacted with our Facebook post, offering ideas from restaurants to park walks, however, it seems many people's ideas are much more homely. 

On the post, Rebecca May commented: "At home with candles, take out and a drink."

Many commenters recommended staying at home this Valentine's Day, opting for a cheaper more cosy alternative to the usually pricey restaurants.

Alison Withers, another Facebook user, said: "At home with my husband and Chinese takeaway."

Takeaways seem to be the favourite choice among readers, with many suggesting to stay at home and order in.

Restaurant suggestions

However, while many are staying at home, some had bolder ideas, opting to share their favourite restaurant spots instead.

Nicky Highfield wrote on Facebook: "Cafe Casita in Sedgley."

Louise Clive wrote: "Firori Italian in Compton."

Tania Lou Lou, another Facebook user, commented: "Three Tuns, Lichfield."

Chloe-Marie Hughes commented: "Love the Fox at Shipley or the Bell at Tong. So cosy and such good food."

While many people gave lovely romantic ideas for this Valentine's Day, the most romantic suggestion award goes to Dolores Kennedy for her heartwarming suggestion.

She commented: "It doesn't matter where you are. It's being with that person."

So, no matter whether you are staying at home or booking a fancy restaurant, it will always be the most romantic day as long as you spend it with the one you love.
