Watch: We taste tested a selection of sausage rolls from Wolverhampton retailers - you won't believe which one came out on top
With rising prices across the board for many hard-working Black Country residents, the Express & Star's Mark Andrews has put his taste buds to the test to tell you which sausage roll is the best bang for buck.
Since the price of a certain food chain's sausage rolls rose to £1.30 - causing uproar in Walsall alone - we wanted to see if you can get a decent sausage roll for for less, so we trotted around a few places to pick up some suitable replacements.
We chose four places - Eat 99, Pound Bakery, Peter's Farmhouse and Katie's Kitchen - which are all based in the city centre to see whose treat is the one to beat by putting them through a taste, appearance and texture test with Senior Features Writer, Mark Andrews.
We asked him to tell us - out of 10 - where he would place each treat buy giving them a score out of 30 across three metrics.

Price wise there is quite a lot between them, Eat 99 knock them out at 75p, Peter's Farmhouse sell them for £1.45, Pound Bakery sell them for £1 and Katie's Kitchen shift them for £1.20.
But don't let the prices do the talking because the results are quite surprising, as Mark pointed out.
Fourth place: Pound Bakery
Marks out of 30: 17.
Cost: £1.
Mark gave the popular chain a six out of 10 for taste, a five out of 10 for appearance and a six out of 10 for texture.
Pound Bakery's sausage roll is the second cheapest on the list, and in comparison to the cheapest it does come fresh and hot.
