A total of 17 firefighters rushed to the fire in a two-storey terraced home in Park Lane East just after 7.20pm on Monday (December 23).

The blaze was in a bedroom inside the property, a West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said.

No one was injured in the fire, which was found to have been started accidentally.

The spokesman added: "Crews visited three neighbouring properties to check for fire spread but none was found.

"We left this incident at 9.15pm after damping down."
