Watch: Road closed for hours after car crashes into Smethwick supermarket
A Smethwick road was closed off and a supermarket left damaged after a car ploughed through the front window.
The Iceland Supermarket on Bearwood Road was left damaged after the crash, which saw a car leave the road around 8pm yesterday (Monday) and become lodged in the shop.
The area was cordoned off by police while fire and ambulance crews attended the scene, with a woman treated for injuries not believed to be serious and taken to Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital for further treatment.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Fire Service said: “We were called at 7.57pm and sent two fire engines, one from Smethwick and one from Ladywood.
"They are still there. Police are controlling the cordons.”
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC on Bearwood Road in Smethwick just after 7.50pm.

"Two ambulances were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a car had come off the road and collided with a building.
"The driver, a woman, was treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to be serious and conveyed to Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital for further treatment."
