Appeal for help with finding missing teenager

A request for assistance has gone out to help locate a missing boy.

West Midlands Police has put out the request for any information to help locate Darnell Ferguson.

The force said the 12-year-old has been missing from his home in Handsworth since leaving at 9.30pm on Tuesday, April 27.

The force also said he had recently been sighted using buses in Perry Barr, Walsall and Acocks Green.

A spokesman for the police said: "We urgently need your help finding Darnell Ferguson, 12, who has gone missing from home in Handsworth.

"The youngster left his home at 9.30pm on Tuesday and we've been trying to find him ever since.

"We’re following up sightings, with recent information suggesting he has been using buses in Perry Barr, Walsall and Acocks Green.

"Darnell is black, with short black hair and was last seen wearing a black Nike coat with a fur-trimmed hood and white stripe across the back.

"He had a grey tracksuit with grey hoodie, black trainers and a black rucksack with a large white 'Nike' logo on the back.

"Given his age, we’re concerned for his welfare and anyone with information has been asked to contact 999."
