Around 10 firefighters are working to control the blaze at SB Waste, in Purbrook Road, near Monmore Green Stadium..

Crews arrived at 12.55pm to the site as a mound of waste caught fire.

Teams from Bilston and Fallings Park stations were working to control the flames using hoses and water jets.

Machinery from the firm is being used to shift the waste materials to allow crews to douse flames inside the mound.

While tackling the burning rubbish the firefighters also identified a separate, unconnected fire at a nearby skip yard on Landport Road, to which another crew was sent out.

Crews left at 3.10pm before returning for a re-inspection later in the day.
