Wolverhampton father and son in court over theft of birds worth £16k

A Wolverhampton man and his son appeared in court accused of stealing birds worth £16,000 from a wildlife centre.

Michael Rowley Jnr is charged with two burglaries at the Owl and Falconry Centre in Shipley, near Bridgnorth.

The 20-year-old, from Broadsmeath, Tamworth, is accused of stealing birds worth approximately £16,000 on September 24, 2015.

He is also charged, along with his father Michael Rowley Snr, 48, of Merridale Road, Wolverhampton, of stealing two barn owls worth a combined value of £300, from the centre on November 14 last year.

Both pleaded not guilty to the September theft at Stafford Crown Court, with Rowley Jnr pleading guilty to the barn owl theft, while his father pleaded not guilty.
