Second decapitated cat found in Cannock garden
A second decapitated and tailless cat has been found in the same Cannock garden as one discovered six weeks earlier.
The RSPCA has now launched an investigation after a member of the public came across the black and white female cat mutilated at the rear of a home in Lincoln Drive on May 7.
Another was found in the same spot on Friday.
Inspector Rob Crutchley, said: "This is very sad and at the moment we cannot say how the cat got these injuries – she may have got the injuries by a human deliberately harming her, or she may have died naturally and had her head and tail removed by wildlife.
"We'd also urge anyone who has lost their black and white female cat recently to contact us so we can find out who the cat belongs to."
He added: "We can't say whether she was microchipped or not, as due to the nature of the injuries, a microchip could have come out."
The last cat found in Lincoln Drive was a 18-month-old black and white female cat called Ellie-May.
Owner Brenda Hearnden, aged 74, who helps run the The Cats Whiskers Rescue charity told the Express & Star that she was devastated by the loss of her beloved pet.
