Officers cordoned off Cambridge Street, the road between the Library of Birmingham and the City Centre Gardens, while a specialist negotiator spoke with the 25-year-old.

The police were called just before 4.30pm and the situation was resolved at around 6.15pm.

West Midlands Police said they were 'looking after' the vulnerable woman.
