Plans for fire-ravaged Smethwick site get go-ahead
Six flats and three shops will be built on a fire-ravaged site in Smethwick.

Developer Arun Verma's application for the development at 2 to 4 Cape Hill has been given the green light by Sandwell Council.
The flats will all be two bedrooms according to his submissions to the authority.
A report submitted to the council by Thorn Kingson Developments on Mr Verma's behalf stated: "The site is previously developed land on which stood a prominent retail property which was destroyed by fire.
"The proposed development would make better use of the site and provide much-needed residential accommodation above retail at ground floor."
In 2011, K2 supermarket at 2 Cape Hill was destroyed by fire.
