To me, to you! Chuckle Brothers back Express & Star Christmas Toy Appeal
To me, to you! Beloved children's TV entertainers The Chuckle Brothers are the latest names to back the Express & Star Christmas Toy Appeal.
Cult heroes Paul and Barry Elliott, who switched on Wolverhampton's Christmas lights this week, supported the appeal during a visit to the newspaper's head office in Queen Street.
Our appeal was launched a week today and people's donations have been flooding in at our drop-off points across the Black Country.
The ChuckleVision stars said it was great to be supporting the Toy Appeal and thanked the generous people who had already donated.
Paul said: "I think the Toy Appeal is a fabulous idea. We grew up on a council estate ourselves and you'd struggle at Christmas and to have appeals like this back then would have been brilliant but it didn't used to happen in those days.
"It's a great, fabulous idea and if anyone has got a few bob just to buy any little present put it in the box.
"Before we leave if we can find a toy shop we might throw one in ourselves - in fact I could wrap Barry up and put him in couldn't I?

"Thank you to the people who have donated already, it's going to be heartfelt and if you think about it on Christmas morning what you've given it will make you feel better."
Paul and Barry teamed up with Wolves stars Kortney Hause and Dominic Iorfa on Wednesday to switch on the lights in Wolverhampton.
The dynamic duo will be in the city from December 12 to January 24 while they star in Peter Pan as Starkey and Smee at the Grand Theatre.
Barry added: "It's fantastic. Everyone deserves Christmas and no one should be missing out.
"Anyone who hasn't donated yet get your hand in your pocket because it'll make you feel great knowing a kid has a toy to open on Christmas day."
Meanwhile, pop star Peter Andre has asked Express & Star readers to do all they can to support the appeal.
The Aussie heart-throb, who is currently wowing fans on Strictly Come Dancing, has urged people to donate toys to the campaign.
Andre, who was one of the biggest pop stars of the 1990s, said: "It's fantastic. Something as simple as a toy can make someone so happy. My youngest daughter has a little doll called Ali she carries around with her everywhere."
The campaign has seen the Express & Star team up with Storage King to help ensure vulnerable children don't miss out this Christmas time.
Your donations will support a host of causes including ill children at hospitals across the Black Country and the families of the Caparo workers who have recently lost their jobs.
Some toys that can be donated include DVDs, toy cars, plans and boats and vouchers among a host of other things. Go to expressandstar.com for a full list and more details.
Alison Hankinson, who is based at Storage King's head office in Shrewsbury and coordinating the appeal, said: "For many of us Christmas morning is full of joy, unwrapping gifts surrounded by family or friends.
"There are many children and families that are affected by illness or poverty this year. I would like to ask that those who can donate, please do as soon as they can.
"We have many drop off points set up so that it is easier for you make your donations. Please do something great this Christmas and buy an extra gift for our appeal and make a child smile."
Drop-off bins are available at the Express & Star's headquarters in Wolverhampton and Storage King depots in Station Street in Walsall, Unit 8 Ionic Park in Birmingham New Road, Dudley and 133 Birmingham Road, West Bromwich.
