Lee Cartwright, from Brompton Drive, Amblecote, was arrested from a Tipton address in the early hours of Sunday.

West Midlands Police say it is alleged Cartwright was involved in failed robbery attempts at Premier Stores in Malvern Avenue, Lye, at 7.25pm on September 27, and an off licence in Quarry Bank 30 minutes later.

The 24-year-old is also accused of stealing cigarettes from Kingsway Stores in Wollaston, at 9.25pm before a last unsuccessful raid on a chip shop in Hill Street, Brierley Hill, at 10pm. He appeared before Dudley Magistrates Court on Monday charged with a total of three attempted robberies, one robbery and one count of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
