Oakland Sports and Bowling Club

Thanks to the hard work of 120 volunteers, the club is still going strong after starting up in 1904, originally as a croquet and bowling club.

The club, based on Lea Green, is looking to invest in a water storage tank and pump system which would use rain water to maintain its green.

Even more pressingly, the club house, where members socialise before and after games, is in need of urgent decoration.

Besides bowling, the club also has teams in the local snooker and domino leagues and the club house is used by many people from the local community.
