Victim suffers serious facial injuries after attack outside Staffordshire restaurant
A man has been left with serious facial injuries after being assaulted outside a Staffordshire restaurant.
The 54-year-old man from Blurton had been to a music event with his family when he was assaulted outside Frankie & Benny's on the Trentham Gardens estate.
It is believed that a passenger in a blue Toyota Avensis taxi got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim before getting back into the taxi at around 11pm on Saturday night.
The injured man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance with serious facial injuries.
DC Richard Hardy said: "The area was very busy with lots of people and vehicles leaving the event after the concert ended at around 10.30pm. We are keen for anyone who has any information, or who may have witnessed the assault, to call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 833 of September 5.
Alternatively, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111, or via the anonymous online report form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. Calls cannot be traced and they will not go to court.
