Fast and furry ferrets in the starting blocks

On your marks, get set, race!

Published

These fury ferrets are showing off their fast lane skills at a Stafford wildlife centre this summer holiday.

Ferret racing is organised by The British Wildlife Rescue Centre at Amerton Farm and Craft Centre and the action takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm.

It is free to watch and spectators can place a 50p bets and those backing the first ferret over the finishing line, win a medal.

Ferrets naturally enjoy running through rabbit runs and small spaces and enjoy the fuss - but watch out for the odd cheeky one which might decide not to run at all.

The event is open to all ages and to find out more about activities held at the farm call 01889 270294
