Kieran's mother Nicole, 26, of Stanton Road, Eastfields, said: "I didn't even see the car at first to be honest. I had just taken my daughter Sofia to school and I was walking into the city centre when it happened. I just remember seeing the car spinning in the road, seeing it hit us then come to a stop."

Miss Hollywood, a former Probation Service administration worker, added:"I'm still in shock and sometimes I feel quite sick. We've been to get Kieran a new pushchair."

Emergency crews were called to the junction with Union Mill Street at about 9.25am. Makhan Singh Chana, 58, of Haggar Street, Blakenhall, is facing a charge of driving without due care and attention.
