IN PICTURES: Fun-packed carnival pulls in the crowds
Tug-of-war competitions, dancing demonstrations and a grand parade were some of the attractions at this year's Gnosall Carnival.

Around 2,000 people attended the 31st Gnosall Carnival on Saturday.
The day started with a float procession through the village, with residents positioning themselves along the route to see the parade. The winners of the carnival queen and princesses competition took pride of place in the parade which set off from Wharf Road in the afternoon.
Themed around sportaholics, there were six floats and the parade also featured Blood Bikes, the Newport town crier, Stafford Brigades Marching Band, a fire engine, fire brigade cadets, vintage cars and the ambulance service. The parade ended at St Lawrence Primary School's playing field. On the field there was a tug-of-war competition, dancing by the pupils of the primary school, a pet dog show, gymnastics display by Airborne Gymnastics and a variety of stalls.
The Newport & District Running Club also organised the Gnosall Carnival 10K run.
This year's winner was Robin Sedman-Smith, of Newport.
Carnival organiser Jim McGregor said: "It was really good this year, although we did have some rain. It was in bursts. It's the biggest event for St Lawrence Church in the year. We are hoping to raise in excess of £5,000 this year. The streets were lined. Around 2,000 people were there."
This year's carnival queen was St Lawrence Primary School pupil Lily Smith, aged eight, of Gnosall.
Proceeds from the carnival will go towards the restoration of St Lawrence Church.
