Classes and exams at the Paget Road Campus are continuing as normal, but the third and fourth floors are closed for deep cleaning following smoke damage.

Deputy Principal Claire Boliver said: "We can confirm that there was a small fire on the third floor of the Paget Road Campus.

"However, the college remains open and all staff and students are being urged to come in as usual.

"All classes and exams are still taking place.

"The third and fourth floors remain closed and students are being asked to check in at reception for their room change."

The fire was caused by an electrical fault on an unplugged projector at 10pm on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Crews from Cannock and Wombourne tackled a blaze that broke out on 200 square metres of scrubland near Himley Hall and Park yesterday (MON). Firefighters arrived at the scene on Dudley Road at 9.30am and remained there into the afternoon as the fire was brought under control.
