Staffordshire group caught dealing cannabis jailed
Three members of a drug dealing ring in Staffordshire have been locked up by a judge.
The group were netted by the police in separate incidents but were linked by selling cannabis on the streets of the town on behalf of dealers higher up the chain.
One of them, Dalveer Sadhra, carried on pushing despite being arrested by the police three times and bailed.
Co-accused Alexander Matthewson was also bailed – and was subsequently caught again months later, still dealing cannabis.
The third defendant, Dean Hulme, was picked up after fleeing and trying to hide out from police in gardens in Cull Avenue, Stafford.
Matthewson, aged 21, of Littleton Close, Stafford was jailed for a total of two years; Hulme, aged 26, of Knight Avenue, Stafford was jailed for 18 months and Sadhra, aged 20, of Lotus Way, Stafford was given 18 months young offender custody.
All of them admitted a joint charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis between March and July last year.
Sadhra and Matthewson also each admitted two separate offences of possessing drugs with intent to supply, while Hulme and Matthewson each admitted breaching suspended sentences.
Judge Robin Onions told them: "Each of you had an addiction to cannabis – the only way you could fund that addiction was by selling cannabis, which you did over a period of time."
