Caught on CCTV: Van in attempted ram raid on Smethwick business
These are the moments a van was used to unsuccessfully ram raid a Black Country business, before it was driven away empty-handed.
Two men got out of the van and cut the padlocks to the outer gates of Aubris UK Ltd. They also used a blow torch to enter a barrier, before using the vehicle to reverse into the roller shutter doors.
The two men then tried to climb through the roller shutter doors, but were unsuccessful and drove off.
The white Transit van marked with 'R M Contractors' was used to target the business based on the Rabone Park Industrial Estate in West Bromwich, just before 10.30am on January 11.
DC Cal Sanders, from Sandwell Police, said: "Enquiries are on-going to trace the two men and we are asking for anyone who recognises the van to contact us. The van has distinctive marking and the registration plate is YT58 EAG. If anyone has information they should contact Sandwell Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers confidentially on 0800 555 111."
