Two hurt as five-car smash on M6 causes delays of two hours

A five-car smash on the M6 caused delays of more than two hours.

Two people were taken to hospital after the accident which happened southbound between Junction 14 for Stafford North and Junction 13 for Stafford South.

The crash closed two lanes of the motorway at 2.15pm today causing miles of tailbacks.

West Midlands Ambulance Service attended and treated a male and female from one car for neck and back injuries.

Both casualties were believed to be in their 60s and were taken to County Hospital, Stafford.

Passengers in the other four cars were assessed on the scene but did not require medical treatment.
