Worst A&E wait times in country for University Hospitals of North Midlands

The trust which runs County Hospital in Stafford has the worst accident and emergency waiting times in the country, new figures show.

A total of 62.7 per cent of patients were seen within the four hour target at County Hospital and Royal Stoke University Hospital, both run by the University Hospitals of North Midlands.

The target is 95 per cent.

Some services are currently being moved from County Hospital to Royal Stoke.

Meanwhile, work has started on a £13.5 million project to build new critical care facilities at the hospital in Stoke.

Units and theatres are being built by the hospital trust.
