The Ford Fiesta courtesy car was on loan to Lyn Jones because his own car had been wrecked by his son William Jones.

Jones took the car from his father's flat.

He filled up with petrol but drove off without paying and a high-speed pursuit followed and he rammed a police car.

Jones, 29, of Milton Grove, Highfields, Stafford, was jailed for 12 months at Stafford Crown Court on Monday.

He admitted aggravated vehicle taking, making off without payment and driving without a licence and insurance. Stephen Rudge, defending, said no-one was injured.
