Man found dead by brother at West Bromwich home after ecstasy overdose
A man died after taking a drug overdose in his West Bromwich home, an inquest heard.
Thomas Aspbury, aged 34, was found by his brother on October 21 who dropped by his home in Denbigh Drive, Hill Top, having not heard from him for several days.
A toxicology report confirmed the presence of MDMA as well as traces of cocaine and amphetamines in his blood.
The inquest at Smethwick Council House on January 6 heard on visiting the home, Mr Aspbury's brother, Tony, found the house locked.
After knocking the door and getting no answer, he removed a glass panel from the rear window to gain entry.
He found his brother dead on the living room sofa.
Next to him was a rolled-up £5 note and a white substance believed by police to be cocaine.
Police also found a cannabis cultivation set-up on the second floor of the house.
Coroner Zafar Siddique said Thomas Aspbury died of acute cardiorespiratory depression due to fatal MDMA toxicity.
He recorded a verdict of drug-related death.
