A white mini, a Land Rover and its trailer collided between junction 1 for Cannock and 2 for Wolverhampton on the westbound side of the motorway.

Luckily, everyone walked away unhurt from the crash.

It happened at 8.15am and led to queues of around two miles backing up to the M6.

The motorway was initially fully blocked before two lanes were closed to allow recovery firms to remove the vehicles.

All lanes had reopened by 11am.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Jamie Arrowsmith said: "We were called at 8.15am – two cars were in collision and a trailer had overturned.

"We didn't take anyone to hospital. The initial reports were of two patients but they were walking wounded."
