One injured as lorry collides with car in M6 smash

One person was hurt in a lorry and car smash on the M6 in Walsall.

The collision happened between junctions 10 at Walsall and 10A at Essington at about 11am resulting in tailbacks to junction 11 at Cannock.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said one patient was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital after complaining of whiplash injuuries.

Highways Agency spokeswoman Prag Baddan said the southbound exit was closed by officers at junction for a short time after the crash, but has since been reopened. She said lanes one and two remained shut while the carriageway was cleared.

Lanes three and four remained open.
