Father and son charged in Walsall pub attack

A father and son have been charged with attacking a man outside a Walsall pub - as he continued to fight for his life in a coma today.

Darren and Zach Cole – aged 47 and 25 respectively – were due before Wolverhampton Magistrates this morning to hear claims that they assaulted the man with a flurry of kicks and punches at the Staffordshire Knot pub in Darlaston just after midnight on Sunday, say police.

Cole Snr, a scaffolder from Ruskin Street in West Bromwich, and his son, a gardener from Highfields in Burntwood, Staffordshire, have both been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The victim Leon Hall, aged 45, remains in a medically-induced coma in hospital having suffered serious head injuries.
