Just 300 tickets have been bought by West Bromwich Albion supporters for the game at Manchester City on Easter Monday – as Black Country rivals Wolves prepare for a 30,000 sell-out.

Albion fans are boycotting the Premier League trip in protest at City's pricing policy.

The game kicks off at 8pm and will be shown live on TV, with fans visiting Manchester angered by the price of tickets, which cost £56. The Baggies were given an allocation of 1,700 but with City charging £56 for adults, £47 for over-65s and disabled fans, and £34 for under-16s, only 300 have been sold.

John Homer, chairman of West Bromwich Albion supporters' club, said: "These numbers don't reflect our general away following this season, so you have to conclude it is down to the cost.

"It is £56 for a ticket and £18 to travel on the coach, so all of a sudden you're talking £74 before you've even wiped your nose. It becomes a very expensive Bank Holiday Monday."

It is a different story for Wolves, with Molineux braced for its first 30,000 crowd in more than 33 years for tomorrow's home game against Rotherham. Wolves fans are preparing to party after Kenny Jackett's side won promotion from League One with Saturday's 2-0 win at Crewe.
