Cannock father booted in face during horror attack
A bus driver suffered horrendous facial injuries when he was 'booted in the face' outside a chip shop in front of his family.
Darren Bill from Cannock had multiple fractures to his face and nose in the attack by Simon James, who was jailed for four years.
The violence outside the shops in Festival Court, in Pye Green Road, Cannock, was witnessed by Mr Bill's wife and two young children, Stafford Crown Court heard.
He was in hospital for a week having surgery to insert three metal plates in his face.
James, aged 38, now living in Abergele, North Wales, admitted a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
Mr Nicholas Cartwright, prosecuting, said the attack on October 24, last year, followed an alleged incident involving the victim and one of the defendant's sons.
"James punched him hard to the face, sending him crashing to his knees. When he was on his knees, the defendant kicked him in the centre of his face," added Mr Cartwright.
