Officers investigating the case have today issued CCTV of two men they want to trace after a 47 year-old was punched and kicked.

The victim was also left with a fractured rib and bruising to the head, face and back following the attack which happened outside Yates bar in Leicester Street, say police.

Clubbers and revellers are now being urged to come forward with any information in relation to the assault.

Police say that the man who was attacked had been drinking inside the Yates bar but that as he left was assaulted by two men who then ran away from the scene.

Pc Madeleine Farmer, from the investigation team at Bloxwich, urged anyone with any information about what happened to come forward and speak to officers.

She said she hoped there would have been a number of witnesses to the attack

And she added: "Inquiries into the attack are ongoing but we would like to appeal for help in identifying the two men caught on CCTV.

"The attack took place in the town centre so there will have been people around who witnessed the assault."

The men, police officers want to speak to who were captured on CCTV, are white and aged around 20.

One was described as having short dark hair, wearing light coloured cropped trousers and a dark shirt with sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

The other man had short dark blonde or light brown hair, with a dark coloured jacket zipped up, black trousers and white trainers.

Police say the attack happened on March 17 this year between 10.45pm and 10.55pm but officers have only just released details of the case today.

Anyone with information should call 101 or call Crimestoppers confidentially on 0800 555 111.
