Willenhall school caretaker rescued from roof

A caretaker was rescued from a school roof after slipping over and injuring his back while collecting balls.

The man called 999 after he fell from a raised level on the first floor roof of Pool Hayes Arts & Community School in Willenhall at 5.45pm yesterday.

The fire service's hydraulic platform was used to get to the man, who was suffering from neck and back pain. He was taken to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton but has since been discharged.
