The announcement that she had been included in the Queen's New Year Honours list created a storm online with some blaming her for proposals which would see Stafford Hospital lose key services.

Today police said they have received no complaints about any tweets or Facebook posts put online which have been directed at Miss Bailey who has now moved out of the area.

Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy has described the online abuse as 'sad'.

Staffordshire Council health chief Councillor Robbie Marshall said Miss Bailey helped to expose some of the shocking things at Stafford Hospital and personal attacks should not be made.

Among those who congratulated Miss Bailey was Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
