Fire on narrowboat in Staffordshire

Fire crews tackled a blaze on a narrowboat at a marina near Penkridge.

Firefighters from Penkridge and Rising Brook attended Otherton Boat Haven on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal at around 8pm last night.

Company director Jacqueline Dorrington said a male visitor dialed 999 due to an incident in the galley on a narrowboat moored in Otherton Lane. No-one was hurt.
