One week left to nominate Black Country sports heroes
Unsung sporting heroes have one week to be nominated for this year's Black Country Sport & Physical Activity Awards.
More than 100 athletes, trainers and clubs have been nominated for November's ceremony that will take place at the Copthorne Hotel in Dudley. The window for applicants slams shut at 5pm next Friday.
Brierley Hill-based Black Country BeActive said it has had more nominations this year than at the same stage in 2012.
The awards aim to celebrate unsung athletes, trainers and sport clubs from around the area. Last year, Wolverhampton's Olympic gymnastic sensation Kristian Thomas was a double-award winner.
For those looking to nominate someone for this year's awards each category has a separate nomination form which can be found by looking at the site www.blackcountrybeactive.co.uk.
All nominees must either have been born, live in, or undertake their activity such as playing, coaching or volunteering in the Black Country.
People can nominate in as many categories as they wish but can only submit one nomination form per category.
The qualification period for demonstrating the achievements of the nominee is September 10, 2012 to September 9, 2013 unless otherwise specified. For further information, contact Jo Taylor on 01384 471139.
